Jack Devine is an environmental attorney who counsels clients on complex regulatory compliance, permitting, and environmental litigation matters. His practice spans a wide array of federal and state environmental statutes, including the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, RCRA, and state-level enforcement frameworks. Jack regularly advises clients across a range of industriesāincluding energy, manufacturing, real estate, and retailāon compliance strategy, environmental enforcement, brownfield redevelopment, and liability management in transactional contexts.
His client-centered, analytical approach to navigating technical environmental challenges is informed by previous experience in Deloitte's federal consulting practice in Washington, D.C. His private practice experience includes representing both public utilities and private entities in litigation and permitting matters, including toxic tort claims related to PFAS contamination, Clean Air Act Title V permitting defense, and hazardous waste enforcement resolution.
Jackās environmental law foundation was shaped by his work as a student attorney with Emory Law Schoolās Turner Environmental Law Clinic, where he advised nonprofits and local governments on environmental justice and land use issues. During law school, Jack also served as Managing Editor of the Emory Law Journal and authored a published comment on justiciability in religious land use disputes. He deepened his understanding of litigation during a judicial internship with U.S. Magistrate Judge Jonathan Goodman in the Southern District of Florida and a clerkship with a Florida-based commercial litigation firm.
