Kate focuses her practice on environmental litigation and environmental issues in property transactions. With an understanding of both litigation strategy and regulatory compliance requirements, Kate helps clients develop creative solutions to issues involving environmental contamination. She represents clients in a wide variety of environmental litigation matters in state and federal courts. Her work includes litigation of major contamination cases under the Clean Water Act, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Superfund laws, and state common law. Kate commonly defends clients in environmental actions brought by both citizen groups as well as state and federal agencies. Kate also advises clients in transactions involving the sale of contaminated real property. This includes advice and representation related to vapor intrusion, underground storage tanks, and petroleum contamination. Kate has experience with Brownfields and Voluntary Clean-Up Programs across the country.
